Maintenance Mechanic 
Salary range: $38,920 - $59,937

The Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA), a progressive water utility providing water, sewer and reclaimed water services to the Towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, seeks a highly responsible, detail-oriented individual to maintain and repair buildings, equipment and vehicles as a Maintenance Mechanic. OWASA seeks candidates that are team players with a positive attitude, solid work ethic with good communication skills. This position performs preventative and corrective maintenance on water/wastewater plants. This is accomplished by receiving work orders; assembling tools and equipment and performing maintenance on pumps, motors, generators, water tanks and process control equipment. Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment is required. Work is accomplished by receiving and completing work orders through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This position requires a High School diploma with 1 year of previous maintenance experience. Valid North Carolina Class C driver's license required.
